New York-based fashion brand Engineered Garments and Converse have announced their latest collaboration model, based on the popular Weapon Low shoe.
This model features a reconstruction focused on material use, reflecting the utilitarian approach of Daiki Suzuki, who leads Engineered Garments. Available as a unisex model, it comes in two colorways: “Vintage White/Yellow” and “Vintage White/Black,” each boasting a rich texture created by mixed materials.
The most distinctive feature is the brand's signature asymmetrical panel design. Although it appears symmetrical at first glance, smooth leather and suede are cleverly switched, with different placements for the toe box, the Chevron Star logo on the midfoot, and even the heel counter. The sole uses the original rubber cupsole unit, ensuring durability and stability suitable for daily use. The inner features a co-branded sockliner indicating the collaboration, while the exterior has a minimalist finish. By minimizing details such as tonal stitching, flat cotton laces, and a subtle padded collar, the design highlights the contrast in materials.
