"DRAGON BALL" is an timeless masterpiece created by Akira Toriyama that expanded into manga, anime, games, and figures from the 1980s to the 90s, profoundly influencing pop culture worldwide. Among them, "DRAGON BALL Z" is known as the series that dramatically expanded the scale of the work through fierce battles with powerful enemies such as Saiyans, Frieza, Androids, and Majin Buu. In this collaboration with "CONVERSE," a "CELL" model, symbolizing the Android Saga, will be featured alongside characters such as "GOKU," "VEGETA," "FRIEZA," and "SHENRON."
The base model is the "CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR," which was born as a basketball shoe in 1917 and became an unchanging icon in music, art, and street culture. Cell is the culmination of biotechnology created by Dr. Gero's computer, evolving into his perfect form by absorbing Android 17 and 18, and is one of the most intelligent and intimidating villains in the series. This work projects his alien presence onto a green high-cut upper. The varied speckled graphics create an appearance reminiscent of Cell's outer shell, tightened by black shoelaces and tongue.
Green lines run across the white toe cap and midsole, naturally incorporating the anime-derived color scheme while retaining the classic "ALL STAR" silhouette. The ankle patch, heel license plate, and sockliner are also collaboration-specific, and graphics are even placed on the outsole. Equipped with "ORTHOLITE" insoles for comfort, this pair appeals to both fans of the series and sneaker enthusiasts.
