Converse has announced its first collaboration with No Problemo, the sub-label of London-based streetwear brand Aries. A special edition Chuck 70, featuring designs inspired by aliens and UFOs, will be released on July 21, 2026.
What is "No Problemo"?
"No Problemo" was a familiar slogan on Aries' sweatshirts, T-shirts, and caps, but it officially launched as an independent brand in 2024.
The creative director is Sofia Prantera, Aries' founder. She developed the brand with graphic designer Fergus Purcell (also known for designing the Palace "Penrose" logo).
The brand's first collection, "Area 001," draws inspiration from UFO culture and alien legends, similar to Area 51, and features:
- extraterrestrial life
- hidden knowledge
- outsider perspectives
as metaphors for "curiosity," "diversity," and "exploration."
Features of the Collaboration Model
This collaboration features two models based on Converse's classic Chuck 70:
- low-cut (white)
- high-cut (black)
The design theme is:
1970s sci-fi movies, UFO legends, and coming-of-age films
The main details are as follows:
- Low-cut has a glow-in-the-dark green line around the sole.
- The outsole features:
- "Believe"
- psychedelic swirl graphic
- Logos of both Converse and No Problemo brands are placed.
- An alien face in the center of the All-Star patch.
- Eyelets (shoe holes) are custom metal parts shaped like an alien logo.
- The shoelaces are printed with the text:
"I Want to Believe"
This phrase is a homage to the famous poster displayed in Agent Fox Mulder's office in the TV series **"The X-Files."**
Inspiration from Movies
No Problemo stated that this collaboration was influenced by the following films:
- Stand by Me
- The Outsiders
- Back to the Future
The world view blending coming-of-age films and sci-fi culture is reflected in this Chuck 70.
Campaign Visuals
The campaign was filmed at
Hackney Henge (Nature's Throne)
in London's Hackney district.
This is a stone circle modeled after Stonehenge, created in 1990 by artist Paula Haughney.
The campaign features
- men and women wearing tin foil hats
- being abducted by aliens
creating a humorous storyline.
This is a symbolic representation of conspiracy culture, expressing
"outsider stories," "hidden truths," and "seeing the world from a different perspective"
which is characteristic of No Problemo's worldview.
