"DRAGON BALL Z," which debuted as a TV anime in 1989, is a monumental battle anime where Son Goku and his friends confront powerful enemies that appear one after another. The training, friendships, breaking through limits, and special moves that can instantly change the tide of battle have captivated fans worldwide. In this collection presented by "CONVERSE," iconic characters and motifs from the series, such as "Goku," "Vegeta," "Frieza," "Cell," "Fusion," and "Shenron," are incorporated into the "CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR."
Among them, the "MAJIN BUU" model, designed for kids, reflects the character's innocent and comical expression combined with overwhelming fighting power. Majin Buu, despite being an antagonist, left a strong impression with his endearing presence, and visual icons like his pink body, the antenna extending from his head, and the "M" mark on his forehead are immediately recognizable motifs on the sneaker. The base "CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR" began its journey as a basketball shoe in the late 1910s and later spread to music, art, and street culture, becoming an eternal classic. The simple canvas upper, rubber toe, metal eyelets, ankle patch, and vulcanized sole provide a universal foundation for the character graphics.
The upper is made of light pink canvas, reminiscent of Majin Buu. The tongue features eye and mouth graphics, giving the shoes the character's expression. A yellow "CONVERSE ALL STAR" ankle patch is placed on the side, and a bold full-color graphic of Majin Buu striking a pose is printed near the heel on the opposite side.
